Third Draft

This is the third edit of my music video.

This is the best edit so far, there are shots of every outfit and a lot of them. It is seductive and hopefully appeals to my target audience. I added a lot more series shots of Roni and made it look professional by not adding any funny shots. The lip syncing is a bit out but I will sort that out in my next edit. I have extended the shot of Roni in there pool saying 'I won't' because it looked beautiful and inciting. David's section is very improvised and R&B but works very well because even though it is supposed to be a seductive song, his section is relatable and fun because he looks cool and comfortable. Throughout his section the amount of shots and how long the shots go on for increases because the rap get more intense. When this section finishes I made sure Roni started singing the chorus in time and it wasn't still on David when it comes on.

Editing

Evidence of me editing my video again. I didn't get feedback from my target audience this time because I wanted to look at the video myself and decide what I liked and didn't like so I could change it myself. I am going to change the section with the hips and leg, I'm going to take out Roni walking in reverse because it was like she was walking away from the scene when we want the audience to be drawn in not taking a step backwards. I am going to add footage of her hips and make the sure the shot starts without her head in it because I looked sort of like her head had been cut out and I was trying to cover it up. I will also tweak the last section and make sue the lip sync is perfect.

Second Draft

This is the second draft of my music video.

I have changed the start of the music video to a shot of her face and the end. I have taken out the shots that cut her head out, this time there are a lot more parts of the video with her lip syncing the words instead of shots of just her face or body parts. I have added a shot of her hand sliding up her leg and made sure all the shots I have used are steady. There are a lot more shots of her in the grey dress, I think this is because I had a lot of footage in this outfit. Some of the lip sync is out but I will improve this once I have got every shot perfect, not blurry, fitting in and working well within the whole video.

Editing

From my feedback it was clear that people though the video should start and end with a shot of the stars face, this is what I am going to change and I'm going to take out any shots that are too blurry, she's there looking at me, her head is cut off the shot or if she looks too happy because if any of these shots are in the video it's not going to look professional. These are screenshots showing what I am editing.

First draft

This is the first draft of my video so far, I am very pleased with it and I will be getting feedback on it from 10 different people soon.

Over the whole video, Roni stars as the main artiste singing along to the track and being very easy on the eye, comfortable and seductive. I love how she is so comfortable, there is no awkward laughing bits footage because she just got it done and didn't feel awkward at all. I have used 5 different scenes with a different outfit and setting at each scene. In each scene I recorded Roni miming the section of the song I wanted that particular scene to feature in the video, for example, I wanted the white background and grey dress to be throughout the whole video so I recorded her miming the whole song and more. Where as the white background with the grey jumper and David, I only wanted that scene to be in the last 1 minute of the song, so I only recorded them miming the last minute of the song.
My favorite part of filming was the swimming pool scene, the balloons filled with LED lights looked amazing when the pool was dark and having Roni swerving through them all and looking relatable is footage I am very proud of.
I will have to put a Parental Guidance/Explicit Content sticker on the CD cover and video because some of the footage is a bit explicit for the younger viewers, I also think I think I will use the white t-shirt look for my CD cover and poster, instead of a cotton top I think I will use a linen shirt.

Editing

The Next minute of Editing

As you can see I have edited the next minute of the video I have included at least 4 different scenes of footage/costumes because the song is building up, it is near the final part and I have also put snippets of David in here as well so the audience get a feel of what is about to come and can slowly ease into the R&B part of the video, so that when the A$AP Rocky rap comes it isn't a shock to the audience. Again I have used the same transitions, I like at one point there is a close up of Roni and it fades into a snippet of David but it looks like Roni is looking at David because she is to side side of the frames and David id in the middle.

First 1 minute and 30 seconds of Editing

I have edited the next 45 seconds of the video. This part includes 3 costume changes/scenes I have footage in and transitions going from one frame to the other, near the end of this part I did include a first showing of the pool scene because the song is getting further along and I had to keep it interesting so the audience don't get bored.

First 45 seconds of Editing

This is my first 45 seconds of editing, I have only used 2 scenes/2 costume changes so far because I want the audience to not get bored, so I haven't used all the footage and costume changes because I can build it up over the course of the video and keep the audience's attention. I have used different transitions throughout the first part of his bit of editing so the different frames move smoothly from one to the other.

Target Audience

I have decided that my target audience will be 16-25 year old's because the content in my video will be very sexual and inappropriate for anyone under the age of 16. It will be targeted at boys because they will see her in a sexual way and also girls because girls want to be her and I want them to relate to her.

I have created a mood board to help me know my audience well, this way i can relate to them and they'll be more intrigued to watch the video.

Footage

I love this bit of footage because if I put it in slow motion it will look really seductive, which is the purpose of this video, because her shoulders out and she is looking to the side which means you can see her side profile. The part at the end is the best because there is no background that looks odd it is just her face, shoulder, hair and hand.

I also love this bit of footage and I will be using in my video, her hair is laid out beautifully along the floor and you can see her shoulders and collarbones. Her hands are being traced around that area as well which makes it very seductive and sexy, I like the fact the video is upside down because it is different and gives an intriguing factor to the footage.

The footage in the pool with the balloons filled with LED lights is my favourite, I love this bit of footage because she looks so relatable in the pool. Her hair wet and she has hardly any make up on which means girls can relate to the video. I will definitely use a bit of this footage in my video.

On the other hand I am not going to use the first part of this footage because my finger does come into the frame for a second but the second half is really good because she slides her hand down her leg whilst miming the lyrics and looking straight at the camera.

I not going to use this bit of footage either because David is laughing in it and looking at me, who is behind the camera. My video has to be seductive, sexy and cool, so having him laughing is not going to look good, it shows he's isn't serious.

I'm not going to use this is small piece of footage because she is talking in it, you can also see all the background around the swimming pool which looks very unprofessional.

Filming Part 5

This was my final scene to film. I was back in the room with the white backdrop but this time it was with David.

Costume, hair and make up;

David wore a white t-shirt, black jeans and a denim jacket.

Roni wore a grey oversize jumper with high knee black boots and a black hat. Her hair was straightened and her make up was emphasized, she had a pink crease and a sparkly lid her lips also had a grey/brown matte lipstick on them.

This should take up to about 2 hours so I can get footage for throughout the whole last section of the video. Getting footage of David and Roni together and individually.

Filming Part 4

Costume, hair and make up;

Roni wore for this part a black lingerie dress with a silk black overall cardigan, this was the most seductive part of filming. Her hair with up in a messy bun and half way through was had it down naturally falling where ever it ended up, her make up was quite dark it included a black smokey crease and a gold lid, her lips were natural.

This should take up to about half an hour so I can get footage for throughout the whole video.

Filming Part 3

Costume, hair and make up;

Roni wore a white bikini and put an oversize white t-shirt on over the top, she didn't do anything to her hair as it was gong to be wet and her make up was as natural as possible, she only had a slight but of contour on and some waterproof mascara.

This should take up to about an hour so I can get footage for throughout the second half of the video.

Filming Part 2

Costume, hair and make-up;

Roni wore a bold red off the shoulder knitted jumper with high waisted blue jeans, her hair was naturally flowing down (a tad backcombed) and her make was darker around the eyes, she had a black crease and a red/brown lid, her lips had a coat of red lipstick on them. I wanted to add a more casual outfit because my target audience is girls and boys so i anted the girl audience to relate to my artiste.

This should take up to about 1 and a half hours so I can get footage for throughout the whole video.

Filming Part 1

Costume, hair and make-up;

Roni wore a plain light grey dress with high knee black boots, her hair was straightened down and her make up was emphasised because of the lighting with extra contour and her eyes had a darker brown crease with a natural coloured lid, she also had a layer of burgundy lipstick on her lips.

This should take up to about 2 hours so I can get footage for throughout the whole video.

Video Prep.

Set 1;

I set up the first part of filming in my Nan's nursery, I found a large room and put up a white backdrop, 2 lights at each corner and my tripod, with my camera on it, in between them. The white backdrop was folded in half so we couldn't see through the back of it and pinned to the top of a double door frame with wall pins.

Set 2;

For this part of the filming I was using balloons with LED lights inside them and I floated them across a pool. I made sure I did it at night as there is a sunroof at the top, so I got the darkness effect on the pool and the LED lights showed up. I had Roni, my mum and dad and me helping blow up the balloons, we had to turn the LED lights on before putting them inside the balloons, then had to blow the balloon up with the light already inside it. We had a mixture of balloons with LED lights and without.

Set 3;

For this part of the filming again I used a different set. It was in a front room that included a red sofa and I used props, a black blanket and pillow, I only used one light so it highlighted her face.

The camera I am using is a Canon 1100D, this is what it looks like. I will be using the video camera setting on it.

Artistes and Declarations

Roni Jimpson

I decided to use her because she is good under pressure and can be very seductive without feeling awkward in front of a camera, she is also available when I need her for filming.

David Adenuga

I decided to use David because I thought he fit perfectly doing the A$AP Rocky part of the song. He is comfortable in front of a camera, relaxed and cool. He has the look as well which helps me.

They have both signed a declaration for me which states they both give me permission to use them in my media a level music video and they understand the video will not be for public viewing.
