Changes

The girl who was meant to star in my video has let me down so I have had to change the star, I have also had to change my location to Twixus Childcare Centre because it is the biggest place I have access to film in. I still have the same ideas and props and the only thing that will change is the main star.

Video Prep

Shoot 1:

For the first shoot I put my model in ripped jeans and a grey vest top. She will be doing her own make up for every shoot, this time she had a natural eyelid with a subtle hint of pink and purple, a black wing of eyeliner and a lip colour to match her eyes. As props I used a grey blanket and one fluffy pillow, I also used a black leather sofa that she performed on.

Copyright Letter

I emailed Selena Gomez asking permission to use her song, 'Good For You' feat. A$AP Rocky, for my music video. I was clear that the video would not go public and is only going t be viewed by a small number of people.

Location

Filming:

My filming will take place in a log cabin at the end of my garden. I will set up a white background and lights to emphasize my actors and they will perform the song in front of that.

I have also chosen to film in a swimming pool. I will fill the pool up with balloons and put LED lights inside the balloons, for this section of the filming I want the scenes to be in black and white.

Here is a mood board of my initial ideas for filming;

Lyrics

Good For You
Selena Gomez feat. A$AP Rocky

I'm in my 14 carats, I'm 14 carat
Doing it up like Midas, mmm
Now you say I got a touch, so good, so good
Make you never wanna leave, so don't, so don't
Gonna wear that dress you like, skin-tight
Do my hair up real, real nice
And syncopate my skin to your heart beating
Cause I just wanna look good for you, good for you, uh-huh
I just wanna look good for you, good for you, uh-huh
Let me show you how proud I am to be yours
Leave this dress a mess on the floor
And still look good for you, good for you, uh-huh
I'm on my Marquise diamonds, I'm a Marquise diamond
Could even make that Tiffany jealous, mmm
You say I give it to you hard, so bad, so bad
Make you never wanna leave, I won't, I won't
Gonna wear that dress you like, skin-tight
Do my hair up real, real nice
And syncopate my skin to how you're breathing
Cause I just wanna look good for you, good for you, uh-huh
I just wanna look good for you, good for you, uh-huh
Let me show you how proud I am to be yours
Leave this dress a mess on the floor
And still look good for you, good for you, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh
Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh
Trust me, I can take you there
Trust me, I can take you there
Trust me, I, trust me, I, trust me, I
Hold on, take a minute, love
Cause I ain't trying to mess your image up
Like we mess around in triple cuffs
Stumble 'round town, pull your zipper up
Pants sag like I don't give a
I ain't trying to mess your fitness up
And I ain't trying to get you into stuff
But the way you touchin' on me in the club
Rubbin' on my miniature
John Hancock, the signature
Any time I here, I know she feelin' for it through
And any time we get our boys in up on the news
Ain't worried bout no press and ain't worried bout the next chick
They love the way you dress and ain't got shit up on you
Jackpot, hit the jackpot (whoo!)
Just made a bad miss without the ass shots (whoo!)
You look good, girl, you know you did good, don't you?
You look good, girl, bet it feel good, don't it?

I just wanna look good for you, good for you, uh-huh
Baby, let me be good to you, good to you, uh-huh
Let me show you how proud I am to be yours
Leave this dress a mess on the floor
And still look good for you, good for you, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh
Uh-huh, uh-huh
Trust me, I, trust me, I, trust me, I

My initial ideas for my video include seduction and slow motion scenes, casual clothing nothing over the top. Natural make up and hair down flowing naturally. I need an A$AP Rocky, so I need a boy to take that section of the song seriously and will be comfortable fitting the image.

I did analyse the lyrics as well to make it easier for myself when I started editing. I put what i would use for that part of the song so it would fit the lyrics.

My choice of music

I believe Selena Gomez's success came from her acting career that came before her singing career, she appeared as a childon the television show 'Barney & Friends' then rose to fame as the leading role in the Disney Channel series 'Wizards of Waverly Place'. She has worked on many popular films, television shows and music collaborations. She didn't sign a recording contract till 2008 with Hollywood Records, which she then formed a band 'Selena Gomez & the Scene'. In 2012 the Disney Channel series ended after four successful series, so Selena Gomez confirmed she would be taking a break from her band and focusing on her film career. Although it didn't last very long because in October of the same year, the artist confirmed she was working on new solo material, this is when her music became the main focus.

I have decided to use 'Good For You', single by Selena Gomez feat. A$ASP Rocky, from the album Revival. It was released June 22, 2015 and Selena's vocals were recorded by Interscope Studios, which is located in Santa Monica, California and A$AS Rocky's vocals were recorded by Downtown Studios, located in New York City. The genre is R&B/pop and it lasts 3:41 minutes. The labels were Interscope and Polypro. 'Good For You' made No.1 in the US Mainstream Top 40, in Greece Digital Songs and received a Gold Certification in the UK.

Questionnaire

This is a copy of my questionnaire. I have decided to use these questions because I want to know what people think of the genre and the song, and to see what people expect in my music video.
I am using Selena Gomez feat. A$AP Rocky 'Good For You'. It is an R&B/pop genre, very slow and seductive. It's an intriguing song and has a good back beat to it. I really like my choice of song, I am hoping that my audience will feel the same. I have given my questionnaire to 11 people and I will upload and review everyone's feedback.

When I looked through the feedback, I was surprised at how many people didn't listen to R&B. It didn't seem to be a common interest in my focus group. Although, when mentioning R&B and asking their thoughts on the genre and my choice of song there were different views. Some didn't like the song and others loved it. Everyone had good ideas, for example, using a young couple and old couple and comparing their lives/love. Doing a narrative, but my favorite was the suggestion was performance, with dull lights and lots of cushions.
